Ever since we made the decision to leave Penang and move back to the states, I have started to pay closer attention to the little details that make up life for us in Penang and what I appreciate about those details (insignificant as they may seem!). Like going to the local wet market. We all thoroughly enjoy shopping there for our breakfast several times per week. We have no hope of ever really "blending in" at the market. We are much too visible with our large and sometimes loud family. We do try though! We order dim sum, char kueh cheow, ah pong.............mmmm. What will we do in North Carolina??? 'Hope they have some of those things there. I appreciate that my eggs come in tens wrapped in chinese newspaper, laundry blowing in the balmy breeze, and the way it feels when you have learned a new language and can understand something that isn't in your mother tongue.
