That just about sums up our daily life right now. Before we came back to the United States, I was reminded by several of the "fast life style" of the United States, but now that I am here, in our new home in (or rather, outside of..) Wake Forest, a town in North Carolina, I find our pace of life much slower! I can count on one hand all the phone calls I had this week: My faithful mother, the boy from down the street wanting to play with Brandon, and the local newspaper (again), trying to persuade me to subscribe. I was glad to hear his voice and actually had a little chat with him. Now compare that with Penang, where we were within 5 minutes of 3 or so malls, any number of restaurants, and where friends dropped by pretty much daily for a chat, to see kids, and go out for a cup of Teh Tarik together. Ahh, we all really miss our Penang life, even though we are getting used to the new one. Although the kids are still asking daily to "go home", they do admit (and I admit) that we are enjoying the differences and that the Lord is slowly bringing us new friends. We are visiting a church that we are impressed with so far, and there is just less stress in our brains and our hearts now that we are starting to settle in a new home. It helped that the crate came this past week! Children were re-united with favorite stuffed animals and toys and we are now eating with real cutlery rather than plasticware.
I'd still like to upload some photos of Penang this week before we start homeschooling for the year. It's going to be a busy week!

It's really neat to read that your life is actually slower there! I hope you don't stop posting here... I'm interested in reading about other adjustments!
Sending you some Malaysian love...!
